TAKE PART IN THE FUTURE OF ZAP
HOW?
  • Become Founding Fathers - The Founding Fathers of ZAP commit for three years and donate a minimum of € 1500,- yearly. (ZAP has the ANBI status)
  • Become Friend of ZAP - every donation is more than welcome!

  • Briefly back in the Netherlands, I would like to give you a brief update, by means of this "News Flash" about developments in Zambia. A more extensive report will follow in the autumn.

In April I had to report that the lorry which ZAP uses for the transport of goods and materials to the various projects in the bush, was involved in a serious accident. But now the good news!
In spite of the huge damage to the lorry, it has been repaired and is again being used to the full by ZAP.

    The school in Nkulamaziba
The first teacher's house with outside kitchen, toilet and washing area, is as good as finished
We have started the construction of the second house. The community is still fully involved.
Our aim is to build 4 teacher's houses this year

    ZAP Chicken Farm in Nkulamaziba
The chicken farm is growing steadily! From 12 chickens at the start in August 2011, the farm now boasts over 70 chickens.

School at the Kitumba Open Air Prison
After some teething problems with the formation of the team, work has now started in earnest.
At the moment 12 prisoners are working on the project. Under the supervision of the prison guards, they take care of the delivery of water, construction sand and bricks.

As a lot of work is awaiting me in the coming months, I will be returning to Zambia on the 28th of June after a stay of only three weeks in the Netherlands.
In addition to supervising the various projects, I also have to extend my work permit. This is an enormously laborious administrative process which will take a lot of time. In addition we are expecting visits to Zambia from a number of donors and ZAP boardmembers. Together with them I shall be visiting all the projects and introduce them to the ZAP collaborators.

ZAP wishes you all a warm and happy summer.

    With my very best regards,
    ZAP (Zambia Allocation Program)
