WE ASK FOR YOUR HELP IN
REALISING ZAP'S NEW INITIATIVES

Dear Founding Fathers and Friends of ZAP,

Over the first two years of the Foundation's presence, we have received numerous applications for support. I pay a visit to every possible project and check it with representatives of regional and national authorities. Of the potential projects, I would like to bring to your attention the following;

WOMEN'S PRISON IN KABWE
I have recently paid a gripping visit to the Women's Prison in Kabwe. Momentarily, it imprisons 83 women and their children. These children stay in the cell with their mothers until the age of six. They live between these four walls, do not go to school and can't play outside like their peers.
In collaboration with the local organisation 'United Hands in Hope', we want to realise a nursery with playground, so we can give these children a chance on a better future.

CLINIC IN KAINDU
Another project that really touches me is the build of a so-called 'Waiting Shelter' for the clinic in Kaindu, in the middle of the bush.
On average, patients travel 60 kilometres to get to this small hospital, but there is no waiting room available. Pregnant women are forced to wait in the open air, day and night, until they can be admitted to deliver their baby. Relatives of critically ill people sleep under trees just to be close to their beloveds.

HELP ZAP TO MAKE THESE PROJECTS POSSIBLE:
1. Become a Founding Father - you commit for three years á EUR 1500 per year. ZAP has the ANBI status
2. Become a Friend of ZAP - every donation is very welcome
3. Help think along with us on fundraising. If you have any ideas or contacts with possible interested people/foundations who want to support these and other initiatives of ZAP, please let us know.

I am delighted to be able to tell you so much good news on the ongoing projects.
The first project of ZAP, the build and renovation of the teachers' homes at the Kaindu Basic School, is nearly finished. With a festive conveyance in the presence of representatives of the Ministry of Education from Lusaka and Mumbwa, these houses will be brought to use. This means that 900 children can now be taught by five new qualified teachers.

Big progress is also made at the Big Concession School. The first house is nearly finished, and the build of the second house has started. This all would not have been possible without your help!!

Other good news is that Jan van der Does de Willebois has agreed to reinforce the board of ZAP. Jan has 10 years of experience at Villa Pardoes and business experience in Africa.

Because of the finalisation and conveyance of the Kaindu Basic School, I have returned to Zambia on March 31.

I would like to thank you for your interest and support!

With kindest regards,

ZAP (Zambia Allocation Program)
Josien Dudok van Heel.
