Dear friends, In the past two years, I have spent several months in Zambia. The country, its friendly inhabitants and the nature have intrigued me enormously. But at the same time, I got increasingly aware of the poor living standards the people in Zambia know. That is why I have decided to initiate the following: starting the Foundation ZAP (Zambia Allocation Program). I would like to get your attention for one of the projects of ZAP. ZAP is currently active in the area Mushingashi, which is located in South-Central Zambia. The project revolves around Kaindu Basic School. This school is attended by 900 students. Unfortunately there is a shortage of teachers due to poor housing. Also, 750 out of 900 children sit on the ground day in, day out, because of a lack of school benches. I hope you will take the time to watch the enclosed video impression of the school. © Maupart From April 6 until May 12 I will be in Zambia to start, with limited supplies, the renovation of the teachers' houses and the production of school benches. To support the local economy, we intend to have most of the projects executed by locals, under professional guidance. When I get back from my trip I would love to share with you the progression of the projects and the possibilities for you to support ZAP in multiple ways. In the meantime, if you want to know more about ZAP, please contact me through the details below. During my stay in Zambia in the upcoming weeks, you can contact one of the board members of the foundation. With kindest regards, ZAP (Zambia Allocation Program) Josien Dudok van Heel. |
